New M.I.A. video sparks Twitter outrage; GMA summer concerts announced

By Chris Richards
- Brit rapper/provocateur M.I.A. unleashed her new video for "Born Free" yesterday -- a hyper-violent mini-film directed by Romain Gavras. In it, a team of police goons perform various acts of cruelty on young men with red hair. (Sounds silly, right? It is until a little kid gets shot in the head.) Critics took to Twitter yesterday to debate whether the video was smart political allegory or lowest-common-denominator sensationalism. Watch the very, very NSFW video for "Born Free" here and decide for yourself.
- In family-friendlier news, "Good Morning America" announced its summer concert line-up yesterday. Highlights include Mary J. Blige on July 2, Lady Antebellum on August 27, two appearances by the Jonas Brothers on May 21 and August 13 and a few to-be-announced slots -- one of which will undoubtedly be filled by Justin Bieber.
