Coda: Christina Aguilera and Roger Waters battle backlash; New DMV rap videos abound; Unrest reunites; Jeff Mangum resurfaces
Over 1,000 Click Track readers voted in our Aguilera backlash poll. Meantime, Xtinabot remained impervious to human criticism. (Courtesy of RCA)
On Click Track, it was a week of artists battling backlash: Christina Aguilera was under fire for biting Lady Gaga while Roger Waters of Pink Floyd took a hit for defacing an Elliott Smith memorial. Twas a much better week for DMV hip-hop heads. Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek gave a killer show at the Black Cat, local MC and magazine publisher Darn Good explained why dead tree is the real deal, and local rappers dropped a slew of new videos, including a stand-out Tribe Called Quest-inspired clip from Phil Ade. Indie rock fans also rejoiced with news of an Unrest reunion, while our own David Malitz reported from his vacation time in New York on the big return of Neutral Milk Hotel's Jeff Mangum. Keep an eye out for our ticket surcharge charticle in Sunday's paper and we'll see you next week!
