- Troubled country singer Mindy McCready -- she of "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew" and "Guys Do It All the Time" fame -- was hospitalized on Tuesday after police responded to an overdose call from a Florida home. The phone call was placed at a house owned by McCready's mother. The singer, who declared herself sober on Dr. Drew's rehab TV show, has faced a string of problems over the years, including domestic abuse, a suicide attempt, multiple arrests and lost custody of her son. Cape Coral Hospital spokesperson Karen Krieger is mum on why McCready was hospitalized, saying only that she's in good condition.
- Local concert promoter I.M.P. announced a date for this year's Virgin Mobile FreeFest. The free annual concert will be held on Sept. 25 at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Lineup and ticket information still TBA.
