Vampires and werewolves and Beck, oh my: Your guide to the new vampire soundtracks
Beck is on both vampire soundtracks. (Autumn DeWilde)

It's a double-header, bloodsucker-style: Two different vampire soundtracks featuring au courant indie rockers will see release within the space of two weeks: "True Blood, Volume 2" (already out) and "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (out June 8).
Which one best fits your needs? Let's take a look at "Twilight" here and "True Blood" after the jump.
"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"
Why this might be the vampire soundtrack for you: It's got a high-wattage list of contributors ranging from the Dead Weather to Sia to "Twilight" soundtrack habitués Muse. (One day, historians will explore the significant overlap between Muse fans and "Twilight" devotees. Not today, though.)
Why it might not be: If you ever had any doubt that indie rock was the new corporate rock, "Eclipse" will put those doubts to rest in a hurry.
Hmmm. I still can't decide. Is Beck on it?: Yes (see below).
Marquee duet: Beck and Bat for Lashes, "Let's Get Lost"
Where you can hear it: Nowhere, yet.
What to download: Band of Horses, "Life on Earth."
"True Blood: Volume 2"
Why this might be the vampire soundtrack for you: It's swampy and gothic and adult, a thoughtfully collated collection that skews older and NPR-y. There are contributions from Dylan, M. Ward and a rare appearance from the Band's Robbie Robertson.
Why it might not be: It's subtler and more atmospheric, lacking in summery, "blast it out the car windows"-type tracks.
Hmm. I still can't decide. Is Beck on it?: Yes. Yes, he is.
Marquee Duet: Lucinda Williams with Elvis Costello, "Kiss Like Your Kiss"
Where you can hear it: The folks at Entertainment Weekly can help.
What to download: Lots of tracks, but definitely Robertson's "How to Become Clairvoyant."
