Dirty Projectors and Levi's: A strange fit. (Photo by Sarah Cass via Myspace)

- The Dirty Projectors and Andre 3000 cropped up in a pair of spots for Levi's and Nike recently: Dirty Projectors for the denim company's Pioneer Series and Andre in a Kobe Bryant ad that probably had something to do with last night's Game 1 of the NBA finals (forgive me, sports fans). It's hard to say why these ads exist because they're not directly selling a product-- it seems that the goal is for both these performers can lend some type of weird, esoteric flavor to a couple of multinational corporations. Oh, and both the Dirty Ps and Andre are covering songs by landmark artists-- Bob Dylan and the Beatles, respectively. Can someone watch these ads and tell me what's going on?
- If you had $4 million, would you buy R. Kelly's old house?
