Christina can't top soundtracks; Thurston Moore and Tortoise join Beck's record club

Christina couldn't top "Glee."
By David Malitz
- Christina Aguilera recently made news for canceling her summer tour, saying that an upcoming movie role was to blame for her lack of availability. Maybe. Maybe not. Her new album "Bionic" sold just 110,000 copies in its first week, debuting at No. 3 on the charts, behind the latest "Glee" and "Twilight" soundtracks. Expect Drake to storm to the top next week.
- Beck recorded the latest installment of his Record Club project with members of Chicago post-rock stalwarts Tortoise and Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore. To date the likes of MGMT, Wilco, Devendra Banhart and Feist have helped him tackle "The Velvet Underground and Nico," "Songs of Leonard Cohen" and Skip Spence's "Oar," all recorded in one day. No word on the just recorded album was. Maybe a Can record?
- And in case you missed it yesterday, a new track from Dr. Dre's mythical "Detox" album finally hit the Internet. Jay-Z is featured on "Under Pressure" and he mentions Gilbert Arenas.
