18 killed in crowd stampede at Love Parade; Pigeons poop on Kings of Leon; French nuns score record deal

- A crowd stampede at the Love Parade--a techno festival held in Duisburg, Germany--has left 19 dead and more than 340 injured.
- Kings of Leon were forced to flee a St. Louis stage due to excessive pigeon poop.
- A group of French nuns have scored a deal with Universal Music for an album of Gregorian chant. Hey, it worked for Enigma.
- Dust off your old King Crimson and Yes records. According to The Guardian, prog-rock lives.
- Remember when Paul McCartney came to town last month to accept the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song? Tacky headline, Aaron. The juxtaposition of a tragedy "18 killed" with something comical like "pigeon poop" wasn't a good title.
