Fugazi live archives almost ready; Juggalos gather next month; Tom Waits and Rihanna judge songwriting competition
By David Malitz
- Need proof that Fugazi was basically the greatest live band ever? Soon you will have all you need. Soon the D.C. punk icons' entire live archive will be available online, with the first shows available early next year, according to Guy Picciotto.
- True Insane Clown Posse and Faygo fans already know that the annual Gathering of the Juggalos will take place at The Hatchet Landings in Cave-in-Rock, Ill., next month from Aug. 12-15. But until the mega-commercial hits YouTube it just doesn't feel official. Consider it official now. Carve out 17 minutes in your day to watch this thing.
- Are you an aspiring songwriter looking for feedback from the likes of Tom Waits, Rihanna, Kings of Leon and Robert Smith? Then submit your creation to the International Songwriting Competition, where those stars are only a few of the big names judges.
- And be on the lookout for the announcement of this year's Virgin Mobile FreeFest lineup later today. We'll have that info as soon as it is released.
