Lists: Famous actors in music videos you may have forgotten about

By Allison Stewart

Charlize Theron's ninja-slaying appearance in Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers' new "Crossfire" video is the latest in a long and occasionally distinguished tradition of famous actors and actresses doing novelty turns in music videos.

For every well-documented historical example (Courtney Cox + Bruce Springsteen, Angelina Jolie + The Stones, Alicia Silverstone + Aerosmith) that exists, there are dozens of long-forgotten, equally interesting ones.

A random sampling of Click Track's favorites (leave yours in the comments):

7. AC/DC + Arnold Schwarzenegger: "Big Gun"

6. Dido + David Boreanaz: "White Flag"

(Mickey Rourke and Madonna after the jump - not together, though.)

5. Enrique Iglesias + Mickey Rourke & Jennifer Love Hewitt:

4. Christina Aguilera + Josh Duhamel aka "The guy in the yellow shirt at 1:38": "Genie in a Bottle"

3. Melissa Etheridge and almost anyone who's ever dated Brad Pitt:

2. Smog + a one-eyed Chloe Sevigny: "I Feel Like the Mother of the World"

And one we can't verify even after eleven slo-mo viewings, though we're sure he's in there somewhere:

1.Madonna + Benicio Del Toro, "Take a Bow"

Do the Janeane Garafolo & David Cross roles in Superchunk's "Watery Hands" count?

The JSBX video w/ Wynonna Ryder, Giovanni Ribisi, & John C Reilly is more applicable than my prior submission now that I remembered it.

Or going by AnotherEngine's example, most of the Mr. Show cast in Yo La Tengo's "Sugarcube".
