Polls: If you cared about the Mercury Prize, who would you like to see win it?

My personal resentment for England's Mercury Prize is rooted in envy. Every year since 1992, the Brits have handed out an award for the album that is not only "the best," but also relatively hip. To create an equivalent award here in the U.S., we'd need a prize that utilizes the metrics that decide a Grammy-winner, a Pazz & Jop-topper and a Pitchfork "Best New Music"-beneficiary. (With the dawn of "The Ultimate Chart," maybe we're not too far away from that.)
That said, I'm rooting for 2010 Mercury Prize over-dogs, the xx.The quartet-turned-trio's debut album is actually sitting at home on my turntable as I type this blog post. How 'bout you? Do you care who wins this year's Mercury Prize? If so -- or if not -- vote in our poll below.
And listen to some music by nominated acts after the jump.
