Singles file: Kid Cudi f. Kanye West, Guards f. Cults, La Roux

Kid Cudi goes a little Lenny Kravitz on his latest. (Hal Linton)
By Allison Stewart
A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind...
Kid Cudi featuring Kanye West: "Erase Me"
We're detecting the faintest whiff of Lenny Kravitz-style funk-rock lite on this lumbering but unabashedly catchy Kid/Yeezy collaboration, now available in its full, untagged glory.
Guards featuring Cults: "Sail It Slow"
How Internet-famous is Cults? So famous that it's making blog sensations out of bands with which it's only slightly affiliated, like the equally mysterious, probably New York-based Guards, essayers of this dark and sludgily excellent new track.
La Roux: "Bulletproof" (Acoustic Version)
It's been subjected to umpteen remixes, reworkings and remakes, but this stripped-down, almost bare-bones version of La Roux's careermaking smash may be the finest yet.
Isaiah & Hovey: "Kerosene"
The Richmond duo (featuring District-based producer Hovey Benjamin) samples the Mountain Goats' "Pure Heat" on this track from the new (-ish) "Dante's Love Inferno Machine."
Reptar: "Houseboat Babies"
The new, vaguely Animal Collective-y dance band from Athens cranks out one of the summer's great unsung electro jams.
