Lists: A highly selective list of awesome things Lady Gaga has worn on her head
This Lady Gaga headgear didn't even make the top five. (Suzanne Plunkett)

With a world tour lasting through at least next April and a new album likely after that, Lady Gaga, like the poor, will always be with us. She plays at Verizon Center on Tuesday and will be back again in February, but after that it could be years before Gaga passes this way again.
We'll always have the memories, though. The fashion memories, mostly, which, for Gaga, are the ones that count. Like the time she dressed up like the Pope dressed up like a scarecrow. Or the time she wore an attention-sucking beekeeper's hat to her sister's graduation, which seemed uncharacteristically thoughtless, because it wasn't your day, Lady Gaga. It was not your day.
Or, when this happened .
Because writing about Lady Gaga's outfits would fill a book, and because somebody has already written that book, Click Track decided to limit ourselves to a fond look back at Gaga's headwear, which is usually the most distinctive part of a Gaga Getup, anyway.
The Five Best Things Lady Gaga Has Worn On Her Head
No. 5

Worn with an expertly applied smoky eye and nude lip, this one is actually kind of…tasteful, in a roadhouse-production-of-"Xanadu" sort of way.
No. 4
Gaga likes to wear things that look like they were constructed out of her own hair. There is nothing wrong with this. This look (we call it "The Cornsilk Nebula") is perhaps the best example.
(Birds nests, veils, and other things that look like they hurt, after the jump.)
No. 3
Starting around 6:20 of this video for "Telephone," witness the awesome telephone hat. It's a little impractical (who uses rotary phones anymore?), but for Gaga, it's a rare moment of literalism.
No. 2

Like most Gaga hats, this one is a weird mix of old-fashioned and space-aged. And like most Gaga hats, it looks scratchy.
No 1. (tie)
You know what's awesome? Both of these happened on the same day. Was she trying to decide between the red headpiece, which made her look like a quarantine victim from "The Painted Veil," and the oversized bird's nest hat and finally just said, "Screw it, I'll wear them both"? Because we'd like to think that's what happened.
One night, two hats.
