Paul McCartney, Merle Haggard to receive Kennedy Center Honors
"Another award? You're too kind." (Tracy Woodward/TWP)

Pop royalty Paul McCartney and country icon Merle Haggard are among the artists receiving this year's Kennedy Center Honors. McCartney, of course, was recently honored at the White House with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. Haggard recently released the album "I Am What I Am," his first since being diagnosed and treated for lung cancer in 2008.
Here's Paul Farhi's 2009 interview with McCartney and here's J. Freedom du Lac's 2007 interview with Haggard.
