Get Girl Talk's new album for free
If your Twitter feed is anything like mine, you've surely read plenty today about "All Day," the new album by mashup master Girl Talk, aka Gregg Gillis. (Also about John Wall's sore foot.) You can download "All Day" for free, today only, over at the Illegal Art Web site, although you might need to try a few times. The City Paper has already listened and found that the track "Let It Out" samples both Wale and Fugazi's "Waiting Room." This is (I think) a better fate for the latter than being covered by Jimmie's Chicken Shack.
If you're looking for something to read while listening, how about this 2009, pre-Virgin Mobile FreeFest interview with Gregg Gillis? It is definitely one of the more thoughtful and interesting interviews I've done over the years. He also did a live chat on the site in 2008. And if you're looking for something shorter to read, there's always the correction at the top of this 2007 Virgin Festival story.
