A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind...

Michael Jackson: "Breaking News"

Originally recorded in 2007 and finished after Jackson's death, the first single from the upcoming odds-and-ends collection "Michael" is a dark, "Leave Me Alone"-style track with a martial beat.

Wise Blood: "Rot My Brain Away"

Pittsburgh musician, presumptive Flannery O'Connor fan Chris Laufman delivers another crackly, fuzz-ified, deceptively complicated gem.

Travis Barker featuring Tom Morello, RZA and Raekwon: "Carry It"

The world's best-connected drummer teams with the Rage Against the Machine demigod and a double dose of Wu-Tang for this exceptionally entertaining (if otherwise overmatched) exercise in rap-rock nostalgia.

Colin Munroe: "The Only Exception (Paramore Revox)"

Munroe, a gentle refurbisher of barely used pop songs, provides new vocals to this ghostly reworking of Paramore's underrated ballad.

Rihanna: "Complicated"

Rihanna's voice does things we weren't entirely sure it could do on this superbly simple, tabloid-baiting electro-ballad about a love-hate relationship.
