Local news: Chuck Brown up for his first Grammy; other area artists also nominated
The godfather is up for his first Grammy. (John Shore)
Raheem DeVaughn isn't the only hometowner up for a Grammy on Feb. 13. A handful of other area artists are hoping to win trophies, too.
MoCo native BT was nominated for best electronic/dance album and Chuck Brown, the godfather of go-go, was nominated for the first time in his decades-long career. He's up for best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals, alongside Jill Scott and Marcus Miller for "Love."
Sarah Godfrey over at TBD.com rounds up the local hopefuls and has a great interview with the godfather.
