The Dismemberment Plan performs secret show at Galaxy Hut

With showtime less than a week away, Washington postpunk superheroes the Dismemberment Plan got the jump on an eagerly anticipated reunion tour with a secret show at the Galaxy Hut in Arlington on Saturday night.

About 80 invited friends of the band crammed into the teeny-tiny bar on Wilson Blvd. to watch the band romp through a 21-song set that leaned most heavily on its increasingly-legendary 1999 album "Emergency & I," which was released on vinyl for the first time on Tuesday.

Believe it or not, it was actually the Plan's first show at Galaxy Hut, too.

"On hump day, Wednesday happy hour... it was our scene, it was our people," frontman Travis Morrison told Click Track before the show. "If you didn't come on Wednesday night, people would be like, 'I hope he's okay!' But no, we never played here."

The Dismemberment Plan will perform to much bigger crowds later this week: "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on Thursday, a sold-out show at the Black Cat on Friday, and then two sold-out nights at the 9:30 Club on Saturday and Sunday.

Check Click Track for a feature story on the band's resurgence in the coming days and have a peep at Saturday's set list, below.

Wonder if there was any residual impromptu at Galaxy Hut's Monday night Poor But Sexy show.
