FreeFest: LCD Soundsystem delivers the grandest of finales
Frontman James Murphy and the six supporting members of LCD Soundsystem delivered the grandest of finales with their headlining Pavilion Stage set at Virgin Mobile FreeFest, Saturday. For 90 exhilarating minutes, the band melded rock bombast with disco's invincible pulse -- a momentous display that eclipsed the energy of the day's other performances combined.

FreeFest: Pavement plays for the devotees
"For those of you who don't know, we're an old band," Stephen Malkmus said halfway through Pavement's loose and charming evening set in the FreeFest pavilion. He said it in a deadpan, which is pretty much how he says everything, but it might have been a helpful statement nonetheless.
