Fenty Jokes in Courtroom

The Reliable Source sent along some other details concerning Mayor Adrian M. Fenty's jury duty yesterday.

According to a tip to the RS, Fenty, who was being considered for a drug case, arrived at 8 a.m. He was put in the jury box as potential juror number 11, and was called to the bench to answer questions like everyone else. He was eventually let go, however, and returned to the jury pool room.

After being dismissed from the bench, the mayor reportedly handed back the court-issued pencil to the judge and said he wanted to do his part to save the city money. That got a laugh in the courtroom.
