District Council member Carol Schwartz (R-At Large) picked up the endorsement of the DC Log Cabin Republicans last night, the group announced this afternoon. It also endorsed Christina Culver, candidate for Ward 2 DC Council for the November General Election.

"Our members made a good choice by endorsing Carol and Christina. They share a desire to want to move our City forward with common sense reforms while protecting and expanding rights for the gay and lesbian communties," DC Log Cabin Republican President Chris Scalise said in a statement.

Not picking Jack Evans is a shocker. Will the Stein Democrats and GLAA follow suit?

So long as she doesn't make a big stink about Gay Marriage.

John Smallberries would have been ideal Republican for the gay community. Unfortunately, he missed the deadline for filing his candidacy papers and was outed as an illegal red lectroid from planet 10.

Butterworth stands behind Schwartz. He also stands behind anyone who wants it buttered up.

I've spent the entire day analyzing this blog to comment on, and even challenge the washingtonpost.com's point of view. But after reading the full rules, I suddenly realized I could not make the comment I deemed most butterworthy.

Time for Carol to go!!
1-Voted against the anti-smoking bill.
2-Part of the crowd (the entire Council) who should share the blame for the fiasco at the Office of Tax and Revenue.
3-Refused to travel with the Council to New Hampshire to lobby for voting rights on the grounds that Republicans on the Hill would not listen to her....what has she done to get some Republican Senators to end the filibuster.
4-Against equal marriage laws for all DC citizens.
