McPhee Speaks

I ran into GMGM on his way out of the Ashburn Ice House. He had a plane to catch, but I had to ask him about the highlight reel of his fights going around the Web, pictured below. He hadn't seen the clip, but his response was subdued, almost regretful.

"That seems like a long time ago, like a different life," he said while watching his current team skate through a set of glass windows. He paused. I told him that Caps fans seemed impressed.

"I don't know what to say about that," he said, "My father taught me to fight. And when it came time, I was okay at it."

I think "okay" is being slightly modest, but like I said, he had a plane to catch, so that's all we've got for now.
