The sun shines on Foggy Bottom

Not only is Mike Hall going to Wizards training camp, but Mike O'Connor is out here at RFK spinning a gem, as they say. One hit through three innings. I'm gonna credit it to the sudoku puzzles he was working on in the clubhouse a few hours ago. (Reliever Ryan Wagner was also sacked out on a chair, working on a book of "Super Sudoku." Sudoku: the new clubhouse Red Bull. Btw, has anyone seen those ESPN the Mag Sudoku puzzles where instead of numbers, they include positions? Like CF, RF, SS, etc.? That's just the dumbest thing ever. I can get Sudoku puzzles in 7,000 places, but I'm gonna wait for ESPN the Mag, so that instead of "8" I can write "CF" 73 times, and then scratch it out 73 times and replace it with "RF?" Stupid. Man that steams me.)

(Other clubhouse things: Nick Johnson trotted out a new pair of black socks, Alfonso Soriano said that meant there was a 99 percent change that the Nats would win this afternoon, and the players were listening to Justin Timberlake at one point and even dancing a bit. Yes, Justin Timberlake. I guess Justin Timberlake is socially acceptable now. Freedom Rock likes him, anyhow.)

I'm sitting next to Boswell, who is somehow watching the game, having a conversation with Barry Svrluga, and doing an online chat. Remarkable. Anyhow, I asked Boz whether one could credibly argue that St. Louis is as good a baseball town as Boston, and he said very much so, only in about 800 more words than that. So now I'm gonna wander around, find Cardinals fans, and ask them the same question.

I found your blog through a link on Colonial Hoops. I just want to say thanks for writing consistently on GW basketball, and I look forward to reading your blog in the future.
