What Would Steve Do? Spurrier, I mean.
The Croc hunter's death has led to an alarming number of Internet hits for the phrase "What Would Steve Do?" Like this one:
Just always remember when doing anything for the rest of time, to always think, "What would Steve do". It sounds crazy but it will help, because the majority of the times you think this it will put a smile on your face, and that is always a good thing.
Plus, it turns out that some band named Mumm-Ra has a tune called "What Would Steve Do?", which I actually quite like.
Anyhow, for the record, there's only one genuine "What Would Steve Do?" If you missed the excitement last month, which I'm hereby recycling, WWSD is the bracelet expression coined by South Carolina football fan Ed Conroy about Steve Spurrier, an expression that has some Christians slightly upset. (Actual pitch phrase: "It's more than a bracelet. It's a belief.")
(And how great is it that the Web site is called 3rd & Long, presumably as an homage to Spurrier's D.C. years?)
Watch the tremendously entertaining WWSD news report here, in which the reporter says WWSD comes "oh-so close to the popular saying, 'What Would Jesus Do?,'" and in which Conroy says "We don't put Steve Spurrier anywhere close to God by any means."
(And the actual answer to WWSD? Rub his hands over his eyes, tug on his visor, talk about Danny Wuerffel and go play a few rounds.)
