What You Need to Know, in Fewer Than 200 Words, Thursday Morning

Brawl alert, at a party involving Diddy, Carlos Rogers and Gilbert Arenas. Portis is back, Springs is not, the O-line is struggling and Mike Sellers says the offense is as intricate as you think. Brunell either gets testy or takes it in stride while saying he could be better, and Gibbs defends Brunell, Al Saunders and Gary Kubiak. (Not Al Groh?)

Virginia AD backs Groh and calls himself "a cheerleader", while a columnist asks fans not to boo. Nats move their AAA operation to Columbus (can we burn stuff now?), where the Clippers won't change their name, logo or colors. Hagerstown is also on board. (And O's to Norfolk?) Dr. Phil suits up, Jim Bowden says Zimmerman is this year's top rookie, and Frank Robinson also lobbies for Zim.

Friedgen says he gets five admissions exemptions a year, and Fla. International will get $400k for coming to College Park in 2010. Here's a profile of the new Georgetown AD. And the AJC blog says the ACC "reeks of overripe limburger." Copycats.

Not local, but please watch a delirious Chad Johnson and read about Joey Porter's pit bulls. More on today's Orioles protest, which I'll attend as a neutral observer.

Neutral Observer? I think you should label yourself as an embedded reporter.....and maybe you can get yourself some sort of pay increase for the day.

Goodness, wherever Areans and Storey go, trouble follows.
