What You Need to Know, In Fewer Than 260 Words, Tuesday Morning

Jarvis Hayes excels but the Wiz's new-look defense does not, and the expectations for Blatche (0 for 5, five turnovers) may have been premature. Hayes, meantime, says he hasn't felt this good since college, while The Stealth wanted to play 46 minutes but only got 30.

The Wash Times says the Skins "arguably are in bigger trouble than they were at any point last year," an argument I don't understand. The defense is next-to-last in the league at allowing big plays, Phillip Daniels says the Giants talk of dirty play

was "crazy" and Gibbs says he doesn't know "what they're talking about." The Skins bring in five possible replacements for John Hall, T.J. Duckett says he won't seek a trade, Shawn Springs might start limited practice tomorrow and Dan Daly wonders if this team will ever find consistency.

Lou Piniella removes himself from Nats consideration, but they will look at Astros bench coach Cecil Cooper and White Sox third base coach Joey Cora.

Roy Hibbert says he's "totally committed" to staying at Georgetown for four years, Frank Beamer joins Friedgen in calling for five years of college eligibility, a newspaper says Navy has a "no-name fullback" and then misspells his name and Rich Rodriguez says he doesn't care that WVU is slipping in the polls, which makes him very much different than a certain 'Eers fan I know. Also, TK gets panned again, the UVA soccer coach promises skull caps for fans (skull caps?), and DCU's Bobby Boswell is up for Cosmo's "Bachelor of the Year"....watch the videos.

Ya know - for Kornheiser to work on MNF he needs to be paired with Wilbon - just maybe move PTI to MNF and have done with it.

It's great to see Nick Novak getting opportunities like this, but the problem is he hasn't really been any good since his sophomore year at Maryland. He was 40-for-54 in his last two years with the Terps... Under 75% isn't exactly going to win you any awards.

Speaking of former Terps on special teams, whatever happened to Brooks Barnard? He was money.

Those Boswell videos are hilarious. I can't imagine the kind of crap he's getting in the locker room - I'd love to hear what Eski and the other guys have to say about it!

I thought Kornheiser was brought on MNF to be funny and insightful. He has been neither. Resigned to stating the obvious, his addition to the team has been a failure.

Any candidate that incorporates a whoopee cushion into his campaign video gets my vote, rock on Boswell!
