Gil Speaks of Nekkidnism

If you're a blogger who relies on playful locker room banter, you tend to root against crushing home losses. Unless you're covering the Wizards, in which case it doesn't much matter.

About 27 media persons were clustered around Gil's locker before he even emerged from the shower last night. He swore in amazement when he saw the size of the crowd and then warily approached, passing Antonio Daniels, who dresses at the next locker. "Y'all waiting for me, or A.D.?" Gil asked the crowd.

Game-night pro Dolph Sand always sits next to Gil's locker to moderate the media sessions, and, as usual, he asked the cameras to refrain from filming until Gil had finished dressing.

"Don't want any nekkidnism," Gil agreed.

And suddenly, the playful locker room banter began flying so quickly I couldn't record it all. Here's a rough approximation, starting with Antonio Daniels suggesting that "nekkidnism" might not be a real word.

"It's a word," Gil said.

"I have a law degree, I'll vouch for this," Dolph said.

"Can you spell that for me?" A.D. asked.

Gil and Dolph pieced together a spelling, although I'm not sure I've recreated it accurately.

"Nekkidnism," A.D. repeated, in the manner of a sixth-grader at the spelling bee. "You really are going to vouch for this?" he asked Dolph, embarrassed for the man.

"He pays me a lot of money to vouch for this," Dolph said.

A discussion of higher education ensued. Gil asked A.D. whether he had a Master's.

"Why, you have a Master's?" A.D. countered.

"I played against Tiger Woods," Gil said. "He was in the Masters."

Check mate.

"Same difference," A.D. acknowledged, giving up. "I agree.

NEKKIDNISM

Apparently, Agent Zero has done his spelling homework.

When making up word, remember, "i before e, except when preceding double-k"

Just spied midnight oil being delivered to the Wizznutz beefy (bacony?) T factory - bet here's that the over/under is 2 for days 'til an Agent Zero Nekkidnism T hits the blogosphere. Can't wait to see the graphic.
