Jason Campbell
So while the Sports section reports on the injured shoulders of used-up QB's, Style gets the good stuff about the fresh-faced young starting QB and his beauty pageant GF:
Dating: Jason Campbell and Mercedes Lindsay. The Redskins quarterback and the newly crowned Miss District of Columbia USA 2007 were one of the cutest couples at the mayor's inaugural bash. That's one completed pass in the off-season.
I'm clearly late in posting this; in fact, the Examiner had a long item on this yesterday, complete with details about Campbell's 25th birthday party. (No ice sculptures mentioned.)
Some of the Skins' marquee names such as Santana Moss and Clinton Portis had already fled town after the team's disappointing season concluded, but the entire offensive line was present at [host Brett] Pfeffer's home, as were NoVa business execs such as Signal Corp founder Roger Mody, and Campbell's girlfriend, Mercedes Lindsay, who will be D.C.'s representative in Donald Trump's Miss USA pageant this spring.
Matt Landsberg, president of Eric Finn Custom Clothiers, said that Skins guard Randy Thomas wanted to be measured for a new suit on the spot, which Landsberg would have been happy to do, were it not for one thing.
"I had my tape measure, but I didn't have the 'big boy' tape measure," he said.
This, I would think, is good PR for Miss USA, whose pageant has been in the news of late for, among other things, the possibility of a Playboy appearance and attendant controversies.
The Miss District of Columbia site is extremely non-updated, but you can read a write-up of Lindsay's win here. (There's a photo, but I'm not sure who's who.)
(Lindsay had previously finished fourth for two consecutive years, which is apparently why she feels comfortable hanging with J.C.)
(Kidding, kidding.)
