Three Weekend Wiz Items

1) As mentioned in comments, The Smoking Gun posted Gil's mug shot from last spring. Nice enough photo.

2) Reader Richard notes that Bill Walton has Caron Butler as an all-star starter. Yes, a starter. This would be an appropriate time to revisit the Detroit Bad Boys's homage to Bill. Something about hyperbole.

3) Vince Carter's comments about the final all-star returns were pretty wondrous. Per the NY Daily News:

Carter was edged out by Gilbert Arenas to start for the East team in the All-Star Game. But hours after the announcement was made, Carter acted as if he thought he had made it.

"I'm thrilled," Carter said. "It's always a great feeling to be selected as an All-Star and as a starter, so I'm happy."

Huh? Vince, you didn't make it.

"Hey, whatever," said Carter, who's been selected to start six times and has made the team seven times. "It's still an honor to be involved with it."

I can understand why Vince was confused; Gil's late charge was stunning. We need some of these people who investigated the Vote Rory vote scandal to chime in on this one.
