Buckeyes Like Fogo de Chao and Camille Eats Again

Count Ohio State among the hordes of people who love Fogo de Chao. I spoke with the managers and walk-ons a little while ago, and they loved the "Meat Prepared the Gaucho Way." Sophomore walk-on Danny Peters reports that Greg Oden was out-eaten by several of the mangers -- clearly college students who subsist solely on Ramen noodles and Taco Bell Fire sauce -- and freshman walk-on Mark Titus, a 6-4 guard. Well done, Mark. Peters also reports about manager Johnny DeTemple, "I don't think he took his chip off green the whole night."

Those hungry Ohio State managers also are known for their ingenuity, though. For the second straight week, one manager sat on either side of Greg Oden when the giant media horde came calling, creating a bubble around the freshman center. But something was different this week: Alan Stukar, the breakout star in San Antonio, didn't serve as of one Oden's "bodyguards," as Oden calls them. Instead, he sat in the other corner, apparently basking in his performance from the last week.

"My time has come," Stukar said. "It's time to let some of these of the younger guys step up and give them a chance."

This item will interest WPL fans and further annoy poor Camille: Once I emerged from the media scrum, I came back to see Camille eating a pepproni pizza, provided by the ever-generous Mike Wise, who also got one for The Estimable Sally Jenkins. Camille ate half the pizza and gave the rest to me. Guess what happened then? Camille still has not eaten any chips, but she did eat half a Hershey bar that she smuggled in to the press room.

Thanks for all the Waffle v. Krystal votes, keep them coming. For the record, it was I who wanted Waffle House and Prisbell who pulled for Krystal. Winner!
