Can Colonials Root for Hoyas?
Two questions, submitted by a GW reader, who needs your help
1) Any idea as to where the biggest Georgetown revelers will be getting rowdy on Saturday? I figure places like JPaul's, G'Town Billiards, and The Tombs will be jam-packed. I don't like jam-packed, so maybe you have an idea from others (??) where g'town students are rallying-- so I can avoid the claustrophobia, but enjoy cheering and drinking and all that with other fans in the general M Street area (I was thinking Rhino's, Mr. Smith's, The Guards, or Clyde's).
2) Being a GW double-grad, I dislike the Hoyas strongly. No, make that I hate them. But, being a resident of DC, should I even somewhat root for them? As much as I hate g'town, I hate the guy at the party (or gathering) who is rooting against the team everyone else is going nuts for. So, can a GW person conceivably cheer for the school up the hill?

1) Nearly every bar in Georgetown should be mobbed. There are thousands upon thousands of GU alums in the DC area. I have friends skipping Atlanta because they would rather watch it in Georgetown. If you want to be in a Georgetown bar, I say get there by 5pm or you'll have to settle for some small out-of-the-way bar.
2) Duh. Cheer for Georgetown. Most Hoya basketball fans would be cheering for GW if you were playing. Just like we cheered for Mason last year. If nothing else, cheer for a program which is coming back with a vengeance. Having good, local schools does nothing but improve basketball in general in the DC area.
