DeShawn's T-Shirts

Well, I managed to wait to post this until 6 pm on Friday, at which point none of you are at your computers and all Wiz fans are already en route to the game, but here's the partial story on DeShawn's T-shirts. They're black, with white writing. On the front, it says "I Can't Feel My Face," the saying he also has on written on at least some of his shoes. On the back is the number 2. Yesterday, I asked him how these came to be.

"Just at the house a lot of people have been asking me about it, everybody's always asking me what that means, so I thought I'd make t-shirts so everybody knows what it is, so they'd stop asking me," he said, which didn't entirely satisfy my curiosity, but that's what the man said.

So he printed up 3,000 of these t-shirts. A bunch were handed out to family, friends, staff members and the like Wednesday night, but he has thousands remaining. He said he'd probably give them out at a game sometime, possibly tonight. For everyone who's been e-mailing me about how to get one, go to tonight's game, I guess. I'll try to get the fuller story some day when he's less depressed about Gilbert's injury.

Anyhow, my hilarious stunt was going to be to ask all the other players what they'd put on their t-shirts, but it didn't go so well. Bad week for hilarious stunts.

"I wouldn't pass out t-shirts," Roger Mason said. "Not my style."

"Interesting," Cal Booth said, when I asked him about DeShawn's shirts. I asked what his t-shirt would say.

"It would be something more team oriented," he said. Something to do with the team, maybe a team slogan, something like that. I'm not into the individual thing right now. I don't know, we've come up with "Go All In," maybe something along those lines. I'm not into the self-promotion."

Seriously, Cal is a great guy, but if I had to rely on him to carry this Bog, I'd be in serious trouble.

Alas, I am not going to the game tonight. I've got to get home to claim a TV.

Grunfeld has to resign this guy to a big contract. We need his defense, toughness, and his ability to hit the 3.

not feeling your face is a reference to doing too much (or just enough) cocaine. maybe deshaw thinks he's that nice, saw the game though and i'd have to disagree, despite 17 pts. three point shot is way too inconsistent, but hey, he's young. and tell him i want a shirt. holla......
