More Things to Make You Smile

Look, it's been a great season. We've all enjoyed ourselves. We had The Takeover, Tuff Juice in '07, the emergence and subsequent disappearance of Jang-a-Lang (and has anyone noticed how things really started going downhill not when I left, but when Jang-a-Lang left? I gotta find that guy. Why is he not getting any run with the RimRockers, I wonder? I gotta get him on the phone, get him to diagnose the Wizards' problems).

Gilbert, in Toronto, site of the Wizards' coming playoff triumph.

Anyhow, even if the over-under for the total number of Wiz playoff games is currently at about 5.01, and even if I might never go to another game because of WNBA blogging and Washington Post Live responsibilities, and even if the price of tickets and merchandise are about to get jacked, I have not lost faith, not at all. DeShawn Stevenson is calling out himself and Jarvis, and one of them will surely respond:

"Some of the guys on this team are going to have to step up and take that challenge to be the nasty guy that Caron is," said DeShawn Stevenson, who finished with 17 points. "It's got to be me, maybe Jarvis. It's got to be somebody who will go out there and make hard fouls and not take anything from anybody on the court. Hopefully we can get a guy who can step up and be a pit bull and not let anybody disrespect us."

Jarvis strikes me as a perfect pit bull. Or a Rottweiler, maybe. Anyhow, in the meantime, two things to make you smile. The photo above, from Toronto, provided by Intern Boris, who was presumably in Canada on a field trip. And the video below, from NBA.com via FanHaus, of 10 Gil highlights. You've seen them all before, but it doesn't hurt to reminisce on the good times now and again.

Ah, the video did quell some of the pain I expect to feel tonight while watching us get railed by Gerald Wallace and Felton.

no way a playoff team loses back to back against bobcats, right?

Oh it was a "field trip" alright, one that involved exploring the lower drinking age. and Canadian tire, which.. ACTUALLY SELLS TIRES!!

That video made me feel a little better. Can a team have a 0 and a 00? We need one right now.
