Have you seen those massive ads for the AT&T National that have run in the printed, only-old-people-read-me version of The Washington Post?

Here's the status on those players, as described by Tiger yesterday:
Adam Scott: Yes.
Vijay Singh: Up in the air.
Phil Mickelson: Probably not.
Ernie Els: Definitely not.
So, depending on the birth of Tiger's child, it's possible that 80 percent of the golfers featured in these ads will not actually play in the tournament for which they're advertising.
And in another case of interesting scheduling, Gilbert Arenas has repeatedly blogged about his intentions to go watch Walshy and the rest of the Final Boss gang at the MLG tourney early next month, June 8-10. On the other hand, he's the second headliner, after Magic Johnson, at Freddie Mac's Hoops for the Homeless tourney in Chinatown on June 9. Gilbert's supposed to be there from 11 to 2 p.m. I foresee a Tony-Stewart-Memorial-Day-Weekend situation, with a helicopter whisking Gilbert from the Verizon Center to a nearby runway, where he'll fly up to the Meadowlands and parachute down in time to see Walshy and the boys win an MLG title, all the while drinking Vitamin Water to stay hydrated.
Other celebrities for the Hoops for the Homeless include Karl Hobbs, Darnerien McCants, Gheorge Muresan, Tree Rollins, Tim Stanfill of the National Dunking Association of America and Ledell Eackles, who is identified thus: "Ledell Eckles, Washington Bullets Alumni and Washington Mystics*"

The nice thing about Karl Hobbs is that you don't expect him to win a championship or anything. However, his status as a "celebrity" shows that he is truly overachieving.
