The Wizards' Chinese Workout

I skipped yesterday's Wiz workouts in favor of the Nats, so here's a summary of what I missed.

The headliner was apparently Taurean Green, who spoke about Billy Donovan and called him "the best coach in college basketball." Colorado State's Jason Smith said he thinks he "can help the Wizards out a ton," which I'm sure they'll bear in mind. For some reason I don't understand, Jason Smith has declined interview requests with the Colorado media, but his mom explains that opportunity is knocking for him right now and he has to go for it. Fans compare him to Tom Gugliotta and Cherokee Parks. The Wiz team blog has some workout highlights up from yesterday, plus a few interviews.

Meanwhile, while I offered a Wizards t-shirt to whomever guessed the pick correctly, the Wizards are offering signed Antawn Jamison jerseys to anyone who gets the pick right. Ok guys, I get it, you have better contests than I do.

Today's workout attendees include Josh McRoberts, Derrick Byars from Vandy and Carl Elliott from the team that was torched by Vandy, Jamon Gordon from Va. Tech, Nick Young from Southern Cal, and Javaris Crittenden from Georgia Tech.

Also, of course, Sun Yue from China, a man I don't know much about but who is compared to Boris Diaw by people who probably don't know much about him either. But any Chinese player who stars in YouTubes featuring freeze-framed blocked shots and the music of Nelly is a-ok by me.
