A Nick Young Dunk
Because of personal slothfulness, I never posted this Nick Young dunk, which has already been viewed by every Wizards fan, but never mind. Actually, I first saw it via The Dude Abides, so thanks to Littles.
Also, please remember that he has already predicted he will be in the 2008 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, which would be nice. Maybe I'm forgetting someone, but reading this list, I'm not convinced that the Wizards have ever had someone compete in the dunk contest. That can't be right, can it? Some Wiz fan, please review this for me. Also, DeShawn Stevenson finished second in 2001? Who knew. He and Rex Chapman/Jerry Stackhouse/Larry Hughes might be our best link to dunking greatness, which makes me sad.
By the way, make sure you read William Booth's Style Section story about "Second Chance Season," the Nick Young (and Jordan Farmar) documentary that will likely play in D.C. at some point. At the draft, the director, you might recall, began comparing Nick Young to Magic Johnson, Brett Favre, Ali and Bill Clinton. Keeping the expectations low and everything. I didn't really get into this the other night, but Young and Jordan Farmar are both rivals and close friends, and Farmar apparently helped tutor Young through the SAT process. They were hoping Young would get drafted by the Clippers, so their rivalry could continue. And Young went to the Lakers-Wiz game last year when Gilbert went for 60. He told me he's already looking forward to Gilbert's alley-oops.

This being the dregs of summer. A great source for content may be covering the Kenner League Games. You can't be accused of bias because you get teams made up of players from pretty much every area school, plus a lot of old guys. As an added bonus, there are a lot of very funny characters. I tell you, it would be gold for the bog.

Great call on the Kenner League...it can be a lot of fun.
Saw a game last summer where Willie Shaw (UDC) looked like the best player on the court with Roy Hibbert, Deron Washington, and other D1ers...of course, he was terribly out of shape too.

.....guess MJ doesn't count cause he was past his prime still would rank old MJ over Jerry Stackhouse/Larry Hughes though ....and i thought kenny "sky" walker played for us too (past his prime also but still)

Didn't Darvin Ham compete in the Slam Dunk competition when he was a nobody on our bench? He was never a good player, but he could certainly dunk and I remember him breaking the backboard in one game.

Darvin broke the backboard while playing for Texas Tech in the NCAA tournament.
But everybody knows that nobody dunks like Brent Price.

Darvin Ham competed when he was with the Nuggets. It was the year Kobe won. Ham actuallly was robbed since he hit all three of his dunks and Kobe missed one but they still passed Kobe along into the finals.

but yeah, he won in '89 and played here '93-'95.

Pack was...but it was also pre-Bullets 'stardom.'
I think D-Steinz has it right...plenty of future Bullets/Wizards have competed, just no one actually in a DC uniform.

slow day at work, from the robert pack nba page:
"Finished second in the slam-dunk competition during the 1994 NBA All-Star Weekend"
robert pack played in 31 games for the bullets during the '94-5 season, where he averaged a career-high 18.1 ppg.
that's our closest link to the contest, far as i can tell.

We'll see on Young--in many ways, he seems like a steal for the Wiz, but there have been a gazillion athletic scoring wings who haven't panned out in the NBA. Of course, none of them had the charisma of George Clooney and the noble bearing of Mahatma Gandhi...
