Smoot and Rogers Channel Ronaldinho

Fred Smoot and Carlos Rogers were both wearing burgundy soccer cleats the other day. On the front, was some sort of logo. "10D," Carlos thought it said. I didn't know any differently.

But some research revealed that the shoes were actually a burgundy version of the Ronaldinho Nike Tiempo 10R cleat, which both DB's plan to wear this season.

Just what the Redskins need.

"You know, I always go into Dick's Sporting Goods to see what they have to come out in practice," Rogers told me. "Smoot's always trying to compete with me, think he's better than me, so I always try to find something. Really, he copied the cleats from me. He never wore burgundy cleats, never in his career."

"You'll see me and Carlos Rogers rocking it all year, we're going to represent the SEC," Smoot said, although I have no idea what Ronaldinho's connection to the SEC might be. In fact, I asked Smoot about the whole concept of wearing soccer cleats.

"DB's, it's all about the feet with us, and soccer cleats are real light," he told me. "Shawn Springs done wore 'em, Carlos wore 'em, Sean Taylor had some on today. They good feet cleats, and that's how we win the battle, with feet."

I asked who his favorite soccer player is.

"Well, I don't really know a lot about soccer," he admitted. "I guess they brought Beckham over here to save it, to save the sport, but I don't know a lot of soccer players. I can't lie like I do."

The Redskins definitely have the most "grammatically proficient" backfield ever assemble.

I bet they have their own language by week 1.

But how is Ronaldinho with a two headed dildo?

Ray Hudson called Ronaldinho the "buck-tooth Brazilian" in one of Barcelona's La Liga games. I wish Ray could announce some NFL games.
