Via the Miami Herald comes this news about Dmitri Young's divorce agreement, which was signed before Dmitri's contract extension:
Rebecca, 35, walks with nearly $3.2 million. That includes $1.6 million that Dmitri had given her previously; $1.492 million from the sale of their Weston house, plus another $100,000. Dmitri, 33, must pay $10,000 a month in child support for Owen, 10; Damon, 8, and Layla, 5. (That amount is recalculated yearly based on the parents' circumstances.) He will also put $312,000 into an education trust.
There are some more details, but most importantly, the Herald says that Dmitri keeps "his $782,000 baseball card collection," which is way out of line with what everyone on the Nats seemed to believe his collection was worth. I heard "seven figures" multiple times in regards to the card collection. Although I guess $782k isn't bad for a pile of cardboard.
Also, I realize this was signed before the extension, but if Rebecca is getting 3.2 out of a new pile of 10, that's .320, which isn't all that different from Dmitri's success rate of .337. Good thing Cristian Guzman didn't get divorced in 2005, I guess.
