Scott Van Pelt on Blogs
When I spoke with Scott Van Pelt last week and mentioned that there was a blog named after him, he seemed unaware of Scott Van Pelt Style, despite the fact that its proprietor seems to have commented on every sports blog post authored within the past 60 days. Well, I guess they got acquainted, since SVPS has a long Q&A with Scott Van Pelt, in which the ESPN anchor displays his D.C. bonafides:
Q: Metro you'd least like to catch - Red Line, Blue Line, or Green Line?
A: I am not afraid to roll anywhere with anyone. Give me the green line to Howard, the red line to Cleveland Park, the blue line to eastern market...I don't care. I'd be home, and I would be treated as such in all likelihood.
Also discussed: SVP's Maryland fandom, Montgomery County high school football, and blogs ("I respect the right of bloggers to say what they have to say and they often make valid criticisms of our industry. However, I also respect my peers who have worked hard to get where they are and I promise you it's far tougher to get a gig in this business than it is to log on and crush people on the internet.) Nice work by SVPS.
