Buy Hokies Tix = Junk Mail

On this most exciting of days (CAA Media Day!) let's begin with a tale of Virginia Tech junk mail, courtesy of the student newspaper:

On October 4, hokietix@vt.edu sent a school-wide e-mail reminding students of the opportunity to purchase season tickets from Oct. 8 at 12:01 a.m. until Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. However, many students never received this message because the new spam filtering software incorrectly marked it as illegitimate.

"It was a mistake and a mishap," said men's basketball head coach Seth Greenberg. "But we're handling it, and obviously working very hard to make sure that we take care of our students."

Meanwhile, GW officials are working hard to get their ticket offers to early-season home games marked as illegitimate by spam filtering software. And the possibility of a Virginia Tech-South Florida bowl game is already being dubbed The Greenberg Bowl.

Greenberg Bowl - I love it.

So if Tech plays the Terps in the ACC championship game, would that be the Lake Oconee Bowl? (Beamer and the Fridge both have lake houses there, I think)

Every Hokie's favorite AD was more than willing to reopen the student season ticket sale though...

I want to laugh, but the tears are getting in the way.
