New Media War: Junkies vs. Mottrams
Ooh boy, it's been quite a few weeks for media wars. The latest is the Junkies vs. the Bros. Mottram, better known as the Misters Irrelevant. I happen to have a soft spot for the Junkies, due to the fact that I had to try to call various Junkies from a Panera sandwich shop while writing a piece about J.P.'s pro boxing career and they answered their phones.
But after Mister Irrelevant, Awful Announcing and I posted about the Brandon Lloyd "Troy Aikman might be gay" interview on Monday, virtually simultaneously, the Junkies are now firing back. Yesterday's transcript, from Awful Announcing:
"Ever heard of a site Mister Irrelevant? They clubbed us!"
"I never heard of their website until you mentioned it, so they can go to hell!"
"I read the three comments and two were from the brothers that write the site."
"It's showing that blogs that come out daily are grasping for content"
"Does he get the worst seats at Sporting Events because he's a blogger?" [Speaking about me, apparently. Answer: No, I actually get great seats, thanks.]
"These are the guys I hate the most right now: Jamie Mottram, Chris Mottram."
Me too! Mister Irrelevant has posted a mild apology clarification of sorts after ripping the show, so here's hoping everyone can become friends again. And unlike the unseemly Bog-Redskins Insider fight from last week, I think this conflict could actually drive ratings. Any show that rips the Mottrams on a daily basis (apparently they were mentioned again today) is a show that I will listen to on a daily basis*.
* Assuming they don't go up against the D-O-C on SportsTalk 980.

let's not ignore the most important part of this whole episode ... they mentioned blog show on the radio ... that's gotta be a first right?

I have a theory that Mottram, Littlefield and Steinberg are actually the same person.

They are all quite different people, but with their powers combined, they are Captain Blogger!

The Junks also talked about wanting to have the Stienzzzz on the radio show. Much love for the Bogman

The Junkies regularly bowl with JLC.

Any truth to the rumors that people who trash talk anonymously are big [jerks]?

if the Junkies are ripping on Mr Irrelevant daily, does that mean THEY are grasping for content?

"Littles"- Adam?
You ever find my tape from our Skins Tampa playoff trip? That tape was hilarious and somehow it vanished at Comcast...

Isn't picking on the Junkies like picking a fight with a small, mildly-retarded kid? It just doesn't seem fair.

Let me know when the Junkies get that exclusive interview with Haley Lafontaine. Until then, I'll listen to something else.

It was not an apology. It was a clarification.
I should be a politician.
