Unprecedented NFL Injuries

Amid all the stories of Washington's unprecedented run of injuries, it's nice to also read about the Arizona Cardinals' unprecedented run of injuries. Imagine that, two teams facing each other that both have endured a run of injuries unlike any the world has seen.

Among the one-liners coming out of Arizona:

The Cardinals could have requested a group rate for the MRI machine Monday.

If the band is playing on the Titanic, the Cardinals don't hear it.

"I think [backup backup QB Tim Rattay] handled it pretty well for the situation he was thrown in, " fullback Terrelle Smith said. "I don't think people even know his full name." (Hint: It's Tim Rattay.)

"There's nobody hanging their heads in this locker room, because when it's all said and done, we feel like we'll be in the playoffs," receiver Anquan Boldin said. Zing!

Kurt Warner is leading a new charge for the Arizona Cardinals -- to the MRI machine.

The Cards have lost their top two quarterbacks in two weeks. "I've never been around a team where that's happened," [Coach Ken] Whisenhunt said.

The Cardinals Report has a solution: "It's simple Cardinal fans, Just pray!" TCR writes. "Pray like you never prayed before! If you don't we might be stuck with Tim Rattay and another season down the drain. So as fans do your work."

There's a problem, though. Besides talking about his team's unprecedented list of injured players, here's something Joe Gibbs said: "What I'm praying is that several of them are going to be able to bounce back and play."

So now what? Do you concentrate on praying for Washington offensive line health, or praying against AZ QB health to counteract Cardinals' fans' prayers? And for Whoever's on the other side of those prayers, is it sensible to fulfill one set of requests and not the other? An unprecedented quandary.

A group rate on the MRI machine.

That's a nifty one I'll be sure to keep.

Gibbs and Warner should start praying to a different god.

does it seem like there's an awful lot of "hamstring" and "groin" injuries for the Skins? has bubba changed their stretching or off-season conditioning or something?

Excellent use of the word ZING!

What's with all the "hammie" & groin pulls? Could it be that letting the guys do their own off-season conditioning might not have been the smartest thing to do? Or do the Redskins need to be looking for a new conditioning coach?
