Two pieces of breaking DeShawn news.

1) Reader Andy somehow noticed that when DeShawn Stevenson made a three-pointer with 1:07 remaining in the second quarter last night, it was wrongly credited to Antonio Daniels on the official play-by-play. Thus, the box score says that DeShawn scored 19 points, while it should really say 22. Reader Andy has thus started a process that will lead to DeShawn's scoring average going up from 5.4 to 5.7 points per game, and will likely earn himself a place on DeShawn's Holiday Card list. He will, however, not be getting a card from A.D.

2) Speaking of DeShawn, here's one final example of how Gilbert's persona wafts over the rest of the locker room, with the less blingy constellations pining to achieve Gil's luminescence.

After DeShawn's big game yesterday, I asked him whether the Mister Fifty rules were still in effect.

"No," he said, "that was last year."

Sure, I agreed, but "I Can't Feel My Face" was from last year too, and that hasn't gone away, right?

"I'm getting rid of that too," DeShawn said. "I need something new."

Something new? Why mess with success? Wasn't he "Can't Feeling His Face" yesterday against the Sixers?

"Yeah, I did it today," he agreed. "I did it twice, and after a while I stopped. I just want to do something different. I think last year was last year; I want to do something new. Like Gilbert, he got rid of the Hibachi and now he has Nacho Libre. So I'm trying to find something new. I just think it makes you work harder, you know what I'm saying? If you're worried about the past....The past is the past."

Well then. Perhaps by tonight, buoyed by his additional 0.3 points per game, DeShawn will be displaying his new post-goal celebration.
