GilTV is Launched: Everybody Wants to Be Gil
D.C. Pro Sports Report got the videos first, but then they were taken down. Wizznutzz then busted this party wide open. Just know this: GilTV is out on Wednesday, and it's mind-altering. Like, he spends most of his time talking to a giant lobster. I wanted to ask Gil whether his primary Surrealist influence was Arp or Breton or Magritte, but he wasn't talking.
"Blog tomorrow," he said, tomorrow being Wednesday.
"Gilbert, good to see you," said Ted Leonsis, approaching. "That was a nice game, huh? You guys are playing great. Did you hear, some guy was saying, 'Gilbert, Throw me your jacket!' "
Gilbert, of course, was wearing a suit coat. And some fan wanted it. Ha. Who knows when he'll play again, but in the meantime, several of his teammates are ardently striving to be like him. Like, trying really, really, really, hard.
To wit, still to come Wednesday morning:
* Andray Blatche is starting a vlog: "When Keepin it Real Goes Wrong" (The AP has written about this, but my version will be more extensive, coming soon)
* Andray Blatche and friends are starting a musical group
* DeShawn Stevenson is looking for a new calling card
And for now, and for the rest of time, please savor the most absurdist big-time sneaker marketing campaign the world has ever seen:
