Vegas's NFL Power Ratings
Vegas, via Las Vegas Sports Consultants, now says the Redskins have sunk to 16th in the NFL, and ninth in the NFC, which is not, repeat not, playoff position. That also leaves them fourth in the NFC East.
With this week's line, it would appear the Redskins will be favored in at least four of their remaining games and will be underdogs in at least four, with one I'm not quite sure about (at Minnesota). For those who say this doesn't technically matter, bear in mind that the 4-3 Redskins have been favored four times and underdogs three times (winning once as a dog, and losing once as a favorite). So it still looks like 8-8 or 9-7.
Other power rankings: FoxSports says 15th, ESPN.com says 15th, NFL.com says "middle of the pack," CBSSports says 17th, Yoohoo!!!!!! says 12th/14th and NBCSports says 17th. Football Outsiders's stats say 12th.

Is it just me, or are these rankings way off after the first TWO spots???
Seattle is 4-3, the Redskins are 4-3. Seattle is ranked 8th, the Redskins 16th. That's nonsense!
Seattle has beaten one semi-decent team all year - Tampa Bay in week one. Their other wins came against three doormats (St. Louis, San Francisco & Cincinnati) with a combined record of 4-18!!! The 10th ranked Saints blew them out as did the #3 ranked Steelers. And they lost a close one to a decent Arizona team.
At least the Redskins were able to beat Arizona and a decent (though sputtering) and overranked #11 Philadelphia team. Additionally, they could have very easily beaten #7 Green Bay and the #6 Giants. Other than the New England debachle, the Redskins have been in every game they've played this year.
And just how are the 2-5 Bengals worthy of 18th? They certainly haven't played better than 3-5 Houston (T 24th), 3-4 Buffalo (21st), 4-3 Carolina (20th). The 5-2 Lions (23rd) indeed are not a very good team, but they definitely belong ahead of the #15 Bears (whom they've beaten twice).
FYI, I'm posting my NFL rankings every week on my blog. FWIW, I have the Skins at #10. Seattle is #15.
The NFC is so weak this year that a 9-7 team or two) could squeak in as a wild card . The NFC West may very well be won by a .500 (or gasp!) a BELOW .500 team!

wow, Detroit beats Chicago twice and they still end up 8 places behind them? they also just beat Tampa Bay who is 11 places ahead of them. granted their 2 losses are real stinkers and they have been outscored on the year, but 23rd seems ridiculous. i would say Buffalo is quite underrated in this list as well given their recent play (last 2 minutes vs. Dallas excepted). i'm backing both of those teams vs. the spread this week.
