Geico Caveman and Caron

My e-mail and phone machine blew up last night with the tragic (for me) news that a Geico Caveman had showed up at the Wizards game, coupled with the tragic (for me) news that I had not shown up for that Wizards game.

Luckily, the well-manicured and tireless folks from Comcast SportsyNet did about as much Geico Caveman coverage as any blogger could have hoped for, and the footage is now available for all to view!!! Like, if you ever wanted to see Caron Butler do a post-game interview while a Caveman snuggled up, mugged for the camera and muttered to himself, this is your chance right now!!

More after the jump.

Ok, here is the Caveman flirting with best-in-the-business Wiz security guy Jackie Miles, Nick Young and Caron in the post-game locker room.

Here's Mark Maske looking extremely, extremely uncomfortable when confronted by the Caveman on the Washington Post Live set.

And here's the Caveman's halftime interview with Buck and Phil, which definitely scores highest on the funny-because-it's-so-awkward-that-you-have-to-turn-away meter.

How do you like that...

Is the Caveman always 'on' like that? Is that part of his schtick? I've never seen the TV show. When he came on at halftime last night, I just assumed he was drunk and a lot of people at CSN were going to get fired.

Wow, where was security during the WaPo Live segment? It looks like they really didn't want him to be there and he just walked up anyway. Can I just walk onto the set and start doing some bad auto insurance commercial shtick too? Is the sitcom also the one joke about cavemen being upset that people think they don't understand modern times repeated over and over?

If the halftime show is anything like the primetime show, I understand why there's a writer's strike.

The show is bad. Is it still on the air?

Dan Steinberg, once again you outclass the rest of the blogger world.
The final clip proves to me that Tommy Heinsohn is not the worst team broadcaster out there

It's important to note that the GEICO caveman and the Caveman show are two different things. The Caveman show is not affiliated with GEICO. The show is affiliated with the Advertising Agency that GEICO uses.

While the show has had bad reviews, the Caveman commercials for GEICO have created a new advertising icon. The actors are different for the show and the commercials.
