Brandon Lloyd Talking Again
There's absolutely nothing new here, but I'm contractually obligated to publish Brandon Lloyd's words whenever he speaks. Here's a transcript provided by the inimitable Steve Solomon from this morning's First Team on Fox featuring the inimitable Steve Czaban and the imitable Scott Linn.
UPDATE: HERE'S SOMETHING NEW! I'M TOLD B-LLOYD IS PERFORMING LIVE IN SCOTTSDALE THIS WEEK. HOOOOOORAYYYYYYY! I LOVE LIFE AGAIN!
And if this means B-Lloyd is somewhere in AZ, there is a 100 percent chance that I'm dedicating the rest of the week to getting a coffee with him and talking about life.
On his future with the Redskins:
Steve Czaban: "Your head coach is gone. Your offensive coordinator is gone. Do you believe that you will be gone next year from this team?"
Brandon Lloyd: "No idea. I think that the most important thing is the administrative aspect of this team. That's the coaches. They'll get to the players after the Super Bowl. I have no idea. I haven't had any inclination that I will or I won't. As far as I'm concerned, I'm still on the team until I'm notified otherwise."
On his time in Washington :
Steve Czaban: "Do you feel like you've been given a fair shake to show what you can do?"
Brandon Lloyd: "I feel I haven't. It's obvious. All you have to do is look at the balls that were thrown at me and the balls that I caught and how many drops I had. It was obvious I wasn't going to be out there. Coach Gibbs expressed his unhappiness. But the first year, I didn't see any excuse for it. There was no reason why I shouldn't have been getting more passes thrown at me. Other than that, the 2 nd year he already expressed his unhappiness, so it was obvious I wasn't going to be out there."
On what he was told when he arrived in Washington :
Scott Linn: "Do you agree or disagree with the offensive philosophy and personnel change?"
Brandon Lloyd: "It was opposite of what I was told when I got here. That the ball was going to be spread around. When it came down to it, it was only Chris Cooley and Santana Moss really getting serious looks at the ball."
Steve Czaban: "I would love to know what the sales pitch to you was?"
Brandon Lloyd: "It was come on in here, we're going to have a blast. We're going to throw the ball around, score touchdowns, and have fun."
Steve Czaban: "Didn't quite happen for you at least."
Brandon Lloyd: "Right. Not for me."

B Lloyd is a joke and needs a dose of reality. I have no qualms about him getting a look under a new staff, I mean we pay him either way; but the guy did himself no favors under Gibbs. I wonder which audience he is trying to appeal to with his comments.
Bottom Line - The coaching staff didn't throw the balls, and Jason Campbell surely didn't drop the ones sent his way.

I've lost all respect for Lloyd, agreeing to be interviewed by Czaban and all.

Did Steve Spurrier make a crank call to B-Lloyd? Sure sounds like it from that "sales pitch."

I know I'm a little late to the party here, but Czabe and Scotty Linn are the best listen in radio, nationwide. I in no way care about the Redskins, and I did find it odd that Czabe had him no, since he in no way was involved with the Super Bowl, but I did think Czabe was fair with Blloyd and after ripping him, he did make it clear that he didn't think Lloyd got a fair shake and had ripped the move of overpaying him, not so much Lloyd as a WR even though he does suck

I think BLloyd got a bad rap and he deserves a fair shot with the new staff
