Nats Group House

Seriously, whose belly is this? (Florida Today photo)

Last week Barry Svrluga told us that Matt Chico is now, as he put it, "shacking up at the home of Shawn Hill." Left unsaid was the fact that Chico's wife is also "shacking up" at Hill's House. From Florida Today:

Chico, who married his wife, Stephanie, in January, bought property in Viera and is having his home built. In the meantime, the Chicos are staying with Hill and his wife, Ashley, who also are recent Viera homeowners.

"He's a live-in right now," Shawn Hill said with a smile. "We've had visitors the whole offseason. It's kind of chaotic, but it's fun, too."

Jason Bergmann also has bought in the Viera area, which is why Florida Today wrote the above story on the Nats' starting pitchers and their incredible love of Brevard County. Incidentally, the property records in question would seem to indicate that it's a mite bit cheaper to buy in Viera than in Southwest.

Florida Today also does the requisite "Ray King Lost Weight" story, but the paper gives us a captivating King photo gallery, which seems to confirm that yes, the gut is gone. I don't even recognize his midriff any more.

"I feel a lot better; I feel like it's a big plus," King said of the weight loss. "I'm happy with it, they're happy with it. Now let's just get results on the mound.

"I'm willing to look in a mirror and see less of me, and hopefully look on the mound and get more out of me."

Only Ray King would describe his weight loss as "a big plus."

those were great links but does anybody else see the irony in the "florida today" having better nationals coverage in print than the wash post?

maybe instead of finding a new writer to replace svrluga, they could just subcontract the nats out to one of the florida today folks?
