Caron Butler's Having a Birthday Party

During the Big East quarterfinals? Really?

Who's going to Caron's birthday party? Well, Kim Kardashian, if this invitation is to be believed.

The Examiner has more:

A source close to the planning of the party said Butler was also willing to pay none other than Paris Hilton to come as yet another high profile guest, but it didn't work out. Just a guess, but we imagine it has something to do with her and Kardashian's very public falling out....

Butler is dropping $250,000 to rent The Park's entire four-level space. (Not quite the $1.2 million that teammate Gilbert Arenas spent to rent out Love last year, but not too shabby, either.) We also hear that ESPN and a gaggle of local VIPs will be on the scene.

From the fine print: "Dress code restrictions are at management's discretion and pertain not merely to articles of clothing, but more importantly to style and execution." Hmmm.

Translation: Wizznutzz-produced Tough Juice t-shirts are encouraged.

The party's tomorrow night, the same day as Caron's 28th birthday. I'm guessing it might be a little different than the last major birthday party involving Caron Butler. Waiting to hear whether ice sculptures will be involved.

If this is true, my respect for Caron just dropped several notches. Trying to hire Paris Hilton? Kim Kardashian? Sad.

I'm with Sam. Caron just fell a few levels. He isn't just a NBA player. He is an All-Star. He should be turning down Kardashian and Hilton. Kardashian is not a feat. Even Brandy's brother had that. I could probably make a tape with her if I told her I worked with the Washington Post.

This is going to be a party for the ages. Everyone from the Wizards organization will be in attendance including players and staff. I heard Wizards equipment manager Rob Suller was the only person to decline when he heard it would be open bar instead of open buffet.

How is he having a bday party when the wizards play at 8 on the same night?

My sentiments exactly Kim. I work with someone who is down with everything Wizards and I am going to ask her and see what the real deal is. She is legit and will know the truth.
