Nats on Maroon and Gold
One more brilliant (non-college basketball) offering from WaPo.com's Jon Forsythe, who, in the wake of the Jim Zorn fiasco, asked virtually the entire Nats organization, including popcorn salesmen and cherry tree planters, what colors the Redskins wear. Virtually everyone said maroon and gold, besides those who said "red and yellow" or "red and white" or "brown and yellow" or "blue and silver" or "some reddish color and gold" or "I don't like football," and respect to Ronnie Belliard for keeping it real.
Team leaders Patterson and Zim and Acta earn high marks for coming up with the right answer, regardless of the method involved. Nick Johnson gets the prize, though, for "That's a good question," followed by an extended pause, followed by "brown and orange."

I like to drink fine Burgundy, and my rings and various necklaces and chains are gold. Where do I sign up?

Dan,
This is big, so please take this to the powers that be: The Skins DO wear red and yellow. those colors are NOT burgundy and gold. They may call them burgundy and gold, but that doesn't make it so. Look at the uniforms. Red and yellow. Remember the throwbacks from a couple of years ago? THOSE were burgundy and gold. Danny is color blind, among other problems.
