Ronnie Said Knock You Out
"Mama Said Knock You Out" was recorded in 1990 and released in 1991, when Ronnie Belliard was but a teenager, no doubt a bit more svelte around the waist, perhaps of an age when teenagers would go to the high school dance and gesture awkwardly but forcefully at members of the opposite sex in an attempt to wring fluidity and playground cool out of this still-burgeoning musical tradition.
Seventeen years later, a green ballfield and a boomin' system struck some note deep within Ronnie Belliard's soul, and for just over two minutes, well, they were jingling baby. The video comes via the fine folks at Nationals Pride, and if this doesn't immediately vault Belliard into the Top 10 in MLB jersey sales, or at least the Top 30 in Washington Nationals souvenir keychains, then people just aren't paying attention.

A much better plate appearance anthem than "Around the Way Girl," which is what Dmitri Young plans on using this season.
